Smoothie Bikes

Where It All Began…

Pulp Friction started in 2011 as a smoothie bar project after co-founders Jessie and Jill discovered the magic of smoothie bikes at a festival. What began as a fun and innovative idea has since blossomed into a thriving community activity – but our beloved smoothie machines remain as popular as ever!

Creating Community Connections – One Smoothie at a Time

Our smoothie bikes offer an exciting way to bring people together, blending healthy eating, exercise, and fun in one interactive experience!

You’ll find our bikes at community events, school fetes, music festivals, and more – even making smoothies at Glastonbury! Wherever they go, they create smiles, movement, and delicious drinks.

Our Bikes

We’ve expanded beyond smoothies to include a range of pedal-powered creativity and excitement!

Spin Art

This bike transforms movement into art! Riders can choose their favourite colours, and as they pedal, vibrant designs appear through paint and paper – a masterpiece powered by motion.

Paper Making

Spin art isn’t the only craft-driven bike we have. Our Pedal-Powered Paper Pulping Project (say that three times fast!) lets riders turn recycled materials into handmade paper sheets – combining sustainability with creativity.

Light Tower Bike

Our Light Tower Bike brings a burst of colour and energy to any event. Riders pedal to create their own dynamic light show, lighting up spaces with movement and excitement!

Where can I see the bikes in action?

Our peak time for smoothie activity is between March and September and members get involved in all aspects of blending fruit and serving customers. Our ice cream bike is proving more popular every year.
