Let’s look at the facts…
There are 4.4 million disabled people in the UK, representing 1 in 5 of the working-age population
(ONS)
Meanwhile, only 4.8% of learning disabled people are in reported to be in paid employment

WE’RE ASKING WHY
We know that Learning Disabled and Autistic people have valuable skills to give to the job industry. Our Members have a wealth of knowledge and experiences to share.
With the correct education, training, and the ability to adapt to differing needs, we know employers can change this.
In a survey by Sense, over half of disabled people reported feeling lonely, rising to over three quarters (77%) for those aged 18-34 (Sense 2017).
Further research suggests that children and teenagers with a learning disability partake in fewer activities and participate less frequently, than their peers without a learning disability.
This can have a devastating impact on mental wellbeing, and physical health.
WE WANT TO CHANGE THIS!
We encourage those who aspire to take charge of their lives, to become their “own boss,” and achieve their personal goals.

OUR IMPACT
We hope our work will have a lasting impact on our Members, their families, our customers and the wider community. Until then, we are proud of our impact so far:
We support between 60-70 Members and their families every week.
We employ our Members – be it one off events or ongoing employment at community based cafés.
We serve 1,000 customers a week at our canteen at Nottinghamshire’s Joint Police and Fire Headquarters and run a community meal at Bestwood Park Church every week.
Our Atmosphere Choir has performed all over Nottinghamshire, and beyond! Even including the Chelsea Flower Show.
We continue to grow, welcoming Members, new volunteers, supporting new community spaces and offering catering support wherever we can.
